An oil tanker sinks in the Mediterranean Sea, causing an environmental disaster. Shortly afterwards, two men are killed in Zug. Almost at the same time, business student Jens Lienhard (Ralph Gassmann) begins his internship at the Zug trading company Refine Trading. His father Hermann Lienhard (Hans Schenker), the future president of the National Council, sits on the company's board of directors.

With the help of "GreenPax" employee Beatrice Sutter (Johanna Bantzer), Jens discovers that Refine Trading is responsible for the tanker accident and the two murders. The two go public with their findings and promptly find themselves in the crosshairs of the Russian mafia, which is behind the trading company.
